I loved this book, it isn't my usual style of reading material but I found that I couldn't put it down. Jon made the characters and places so real, I also found myself using google to look up Loren. I understood his feelings about going home after seeing the tulips and barn coming from that area myself. Who cares what the hick relatives think. ; ) I remember going back once after seeing a article in a California paper about Skagit Valley. I would love to read more of Jon's books so please keep writing.

I loved this book! I was intrigued by the characters and found myself researching online to see if the character, Loren Anders, was based on a real person. I never wanted to put the book down, I found myself reading for hours just to see what was going to happen next. Even though I am a female in my 40's, I could understand the angst felt by the 20-something young man. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an escape! Eagerly anticipating the author's next book.
What a great book! It was hard to put down. A fun story of a boy wanting more than his small-town city will offer and then finding out the grass is not greener. Things happen that you don't expect, which make it interesting and wanting to read more. Life lessons are learned and funny scenarios told! Props to Mr. Davis!
A novel that proves that there's no problem so shallow that throwing pots of cash at it can't fix. Barely worth the free download, otherwise pass.
I think this book will speak to those born after the 1970s. I was really able to relate to the main character's desire to live a life he'd seen in movies and on tv. When he's exposed first hand to the outrageous and unsustainable spending of his new friend and employer he can move past his dream of being rich. I give the book 5 stars because I keep thinking about some the funnier scenes and the clever way the great recession is described. I also thought it was refreshing how the main charcter's gay romance is told truthfully but doesn't turn the book in to something of the gay fiction genre. The last chapter was a little jolting but it swept the rug out under the idea of this book having a fairy tale ending.
